An experimental model is proposed of ascending pyelonephritis in rats. The model was checked in 10 rats. Escherichia coli 06 was used for infection with a typical pattern of pyelonephritis being obtained in all cases. The model can be applied for research work and for an evaluation of the efficacy of chemotherapeutics.
