Ovostatic and ovicidal effect of various invertebrate animal species on ascarid eggs

Experiments demonstrated that the slugs Deroceras (Agriolimax) agreste and D. (Deroceras) sturanyi and oligochaetae Aelosoma hemprichi and Limnodrilus hoffmeisteri swallowed ascarid eggs and caused destruction of a portion of them. Oligochaetes Chaetogastae limnaea, Nais communis, Lumbriculus variegatus, Tubifex tubifex and Stylaria lacustris swallowed ascarid eggs and disseminated them in the environment but did not digest them.
