Ultrastructural study of malignant mucoepidermoid tumour of the human salivary gland

Two biopsies of malignant mucoepidermoid tumors of the salivary gland are presented. Epidermoid cells were predominant in both cases. Keratinization of some cells was observed in 1 case. Scarcity of mucin pools indicates that the tumor types did not reach the highest grade of malignancy. The anatomic site of origin of this tumor is from the salivary gland duct.
