Clinical observations showed increase in catecholamine level in patients with cardiogenic shock indicating preserved compensatory-adaptive body reaction providing the treating physician with the hope for a favorable outcome of the complication. Increase in serum monoamine oxidase activity was observed in acute macrofocal myocardial infarction. The possible significance of catecholamine hypersecretion and increase in their level in the development of complications such as extrasystole, ciliary arrhythmia and acute left-ventricular heart insufficiency, is indicated.
