Gynopevaryl (econazole nitrate) was applied locally in the form of pessaries and cream to 177 women. This treatment proved to have a very satisfactory tolerance; a slight recrudescence of lesions was only noted in 4 patients. Candida albicans disappeared from the vaginal area in 85% of cases at the end of 1 course of treatment and in 91% of cases at the end of 2 courses.
