Of 12 cases of posterior paralysis in pigs reported during the past year to the veterinary investigation service in England and Scotland, all occurred one to 4 weeks after anthelmintic therapy with haloxon. The symptoms are described. Most farmers stated that the recommended dose had been given but investigations showed that in some cases up to half as much again had been administered and in a very few cases as much as twice the normal dose. The need to warn farmers of the dangers of overdosing with this drug is stressed.
