Workers engaged for over 3 yr in production of sulfapyridazine and sulfadimethoxine showed increase in eosinophils, and decrease in segment-nuclear neutrophils, leukocytes and erythrocytes. This is either due to effect of sulfanylamides on hemopoiesis or their allergenic properties. Dermatitis was established in 45% of the workers. Sanitary-hygienic and therapeutic-preventive measures are advocated to improve working conditions in this branch of the industry.
