The effect of ammonium salts on polymyxin M biosynthesis by the producer B. polymyxa Ross on a medium containing flour as a source of carbohydrate nutrition was studied. Culture growth, antibiotic accumulation and consumption of main nutrients were studied depending on a change in the ammonium sulfate content in the medium. The greatest productivity of the medium may be reached using ammonium sulfate in a concentration up to 2% for N nutrition.
