Cytological investigations on the effects of I131 in male mice

Cytological investigations on the effects of the i.p. 131I administration into male CBA strain mice at doses of 0.01, 0.05, 0.07 and 0.1 .mu.Ci, revealed the induction of translocations and polyploid cells. There was a significant increase in such aberrations over the controls. The experimental/control response shows a gradual fall in the frequency of translocations during the period of observation namely from the 1st to the 7th day. No dosage effect was observed. Cytological studies confirmed that translocations were induced.
