H. vaginalis is highly sensitive to oleandomycin. The MIC ranged from 0.035-0.15 .mu.g/ml. The sensitivity of H. vaginalis to spectinomycin was 2.5-5.0 .mu.g/ml. The sensitivity of H. vaginalis to spectinomycin is 3-4 times higher than that of Neisseria gonorrhoeae. A favorable effect in the treatment of vaginitis caused by H. vaginalis could thus be expected.
