Using an electrophoretic method, haemoglobin types were determined in calves and buffalo calves. Calves had 5 types of haemoglobin: Hb FF, Hb FA, Hb AA, Hb FAB and Hb AB. Haemoglobin Hb F disappeared at about 62-66 days after birth. Buffaloes had 2 types of haemoglobin: F and S.
