A case of benign pedunculated intraluminal tumor of the oesophagus is added to the relatively small number of similar cases reported in the literature. In this instance, the tumor consisted of edematous connective tissue with scattered fatty lobules, covered by a layer of squamous equithelium. Some clinical, radiological and endoscopic features are discussed and comments are made about the possible mechanism of formation of these growths.
