Attempts to Introduce in Poland a new Method for Transporting Gonorrheal Specimens for Culturing

In 145 patients suffering from gonorrhea the discharge was taken and smears on Stuart's medium (Reyn's modification) were clone. The samples were sent by airway in special transport sets to the Institute of Serology in Copenhagen where in 140 cases positive cultures were obtained. The time of transport ranged from 24 to 100 hours. The transport sets and media h,ad been delivered by the Institute of Serology in Copenhagen. The high percentage of positive cultures, very simple medium and transport sets as well as easy accomplishment of necessary functions render useful introducing this method to the practical use in Poland.
