The relationship between hemagglutinating antibody titers and infection with Toxoplasma gondii in swine

T. gondii was isolated from 9 (29%) of 31 diaphragms of pigs, while serum samples of only two (6.5%) were positive by indirect haemagglutination (IHA) with a titre of 1:64 or more. There was a good correlation between dye test (8 positive) and isolation of organisms. The apparent lack of sensitivity of the IHA test is discussed.
