Leucoanthocyanidins in P. elatior were found in the leaves (0.9%) during the spring/summer period, in the flowers (0.8%) in March and in the roots (0.7%) during flowering and again in the autumn. The phenolic glycosides and saponin accumulation was similar to that of leucoanthocyanidins.
