The author, in this report of the General Referee, Subcommittee C, reviews recent work on aflatoxin M, ochratoxins, patulin, penicillic acid, sterigmatocystin and zearalenone. He discusses recently published methods for the detection of mycotoxins in coffee, copra and coconut, corn wet-milling products, cottonseed products, fruit and fruit products, grains, mixed feeds, pistachio nuts and tea. Methods of detection of mycotoxins, densitometry and mycotoxin standards are considered briefly. Various recommendations concerning the adoption of particular methods are made.
