Surgical procedure for repair of anterior cruciate ligament ruptures and other associated injuries in the stifle joints of dogs is described and illustrated (21 colour photographs). It was carried out on 30 left legs and 27 right legs of Poodles (23), Terriers (6), Labradors, Collies, German Shepherds and other dogs of large breeds. Of 57 legs operated 36 became normal and 16 near normal; in 4 the results were poor; one dog died of congestive heart failure.
