Dogs experimentally infected with Babesia gibsoni were treated with either quinine sulphate, dapsone, niridazole, diminazene diaceturate or phenamidine isethionate. Only treatment with 11 mg/kg of diminazene diaceturate and 15 mg/kg of phenamidine, given in two doses, reduced mortality, parasitaemia and increased packed cell volume.
