Duplex scanning of the changes in the vertebral arteries in patients with ischemic stroke in the vertebro-basilar basin

With duplex scanning of neck vessels in 120 patients with acute ischemic stroke in the vertebrobasilar basin revealed changes in the vertebral artery in (68.3%) of patients, which cause difficulty in blood flow in the vessels of vertebro-basilar basin. Among them were seen often atherosclerotic stenoses (53.3%), deformation (11.7%) and abnormal discharge of vertebral arteries (3.3%).
