The St. Louis encephalitis virus was isolated from the blood of a blue jay, a mockingbird, a feral pigeon and a domestic goose. Serological results indicated that the permanent resident species, house sparrows and feral pigeons were involved. These two species represented nearly three-fourths of all infected birds in the city.
