Nervous regulation of bone metabolism

This review is focused on the issues pertaining to the control of bone metabolism by adrenergic and serotoninergic regions of the vegetative nervous system. It is shown that mediators, enzymes, and receptors of these regions regulate bone remodeling processes. Data on the effects of regulatory peptides and nitric oxide on bone cells are presented.
