In consideration of the rarity of the cases described in the literature, the authors report three cases of polypoid lesions of the duodenal bulb, two of which histologically revealed Brunner's gland adenomas. After a short review of the first studies of these glands from anatomical physiologcial and pathological points of view, the authors consider their controversal function and the etiology of the lesions in connection with environmental factors.
