Mental health advocates are pleased with the investments made in the Defense, Labor, and Health and Human Services (HHS) legislation by bipartisan lawmakers that increased or level-funded mental health research, services and supports for consumers with mental illness. President Trump signed the spending bill into law on Sept. 28, staving off a partial shutdown of the government, at least until December.
