The microtechnique procedure for ferro- and erythrokinetics is described in detail. The procedure illustrates the advantages of radiotracers and can be easily adapted to training and research programs. Using radioiron and radiochromium the rates of red blood cell (RBC) formation, haemoglobin synthesis and apparent RBC survival were estimated in the rat.
