The results of the studies show that mononuclear leukocytes isolated from human peripheral blood, malignant effusions, and surgically removed spleen can be generated into lymphokine-activated killers (LAK) characterized by high anti-tumor activity. LAKs may be used for adoptive immunotherapy of malignant effusions and the prevention of tumor recurrence in oncological patients after radical surgery.
