Use of atarax with ketamine anaesthesia in obstetrics

The use of Ketamine in caesarian sections and its use as a sole anaesthetic agent for obstetrical procedures with pre-operative Hydroxyzinc Hcl and post-operative Diazepam have been described. This clinical study shows that Atarax (Hydroxyzine Hcl) 100 mg as a premedication and Valium 5 mg at the end of procedures have sufficient effect in prevention of the unwanted side effects and were effective in reducing the incidence of undesirable sequelae. Babies delivered by this method have shown no signs of respiratory or cardiovascular depression.
