Tween 80 exacerbated intrinsic rhinitis and asthma in non-aspirin-sensitive patients

Oral challenge with Tween 80 gave positive results in 21 non-aspirin-sensitive patients with intrinsic chronic rhinitis, nasal polyps.and asthma, of whom only seven were also atopic. Comparisons between these patients and those in other groups tested suggest that the incidence of Tween 80 intolerance in patients with intrinsic respiratory disease is about one half the incidence of aspirin intolerance and twice the incidence of iodide intolerance.
