A specific tool of transactional and script analysis as developed by Eric Berne and his co-workers is the use of therapeutic contracts. Three examples from human psychotherapeutic practice illustrate the application of these contracts. The 1st example shows a special indication and the conditions these contracts are based upon. It then follows a description of the existential positions elaborated by Thomas Harris. The 2nd example shows how a gestalt therapeutic work results in a therapeutic contract and the final example shows how script analysis can lead to a therapeutic contract as well.
