154 crossbred gilts were mated to purebred Yorkshire or crossbred boars, and 18 h later their rations were doubled. Flushing neither increased litter size at birth or weaning, nor litter weight. Crossbred boars mated with more gilts than did purebred boars, but litter size and weight were similar for the crossbred and purebred boars.
