The authors describe methyl-4-ombelliferone choleretic properties and precise the drug effect on cholecyst. Methyl-4-ombelliferone is not a cholagogue drug, and presents a selective oddian spasmolytic effect, observed on guineα-pig and dog : product balances its weck papa verinic potency by a high biliary concentration, duplicated by an entero-hepatic cycle, that may explain an in part local action.
