Death of a SARS case from secondary aspergillus infection

A case of a 39-year-old male physician with severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) who died of aspergillosis after treatment with corticosteroids is reported from China. Pathological examination, diagnosis and treatment with methyl prednisolone are described. The causes of death are severe SARS, viral encephalitis, and respiratory failure.
