The clinical picture, pathogenesis, prognosis, therapy and prevention of milk anaemia are discussed with reference to several case reports. The condition is defined as Fe deficiency anaemia, caused by an excessive amount of milk in a diet poor in Fe-containing proteins and rich in carbohydrates. The basic cause is said to be a dysfunction in the mother-child relationship, and the condition is often accompanied by allergic respiratory difficulties, constipation, dental caries and sleep problems.
