The relative roles of women and children in agricultural activities and household income generation are analysed. Although both groups were found to be involved in crop and livestock farming, they performed different tasks. Women and children from poor and landless households provided paid services for higher income households. Ways of improving the welfare of women and children in agricultural households are noted.
