Five conditions are dealt with : Plummer Vinson or Kelly Paterson syndrome, dysphagia lusoria, neoplastic mediastinitis, dysphagia due to mediastinal tubercubous adenopathies and Schateiki's ring. All these conditions have one point in commun, they are revealed by the master symptom in oesophageal disease : dysphagia. Etiopathogenesis, pathology, clinical picture and diagnosis,and treatment of all these conditions are recalled.
