A protein binding vitamin B-12 was found in plasma of dogs; it eluted from DEAE-cellulose with the ss-globulins, had ss mobility on paper electrophoresis and a molecular size of about 38 000, carried cyano-cobalamin as it was absorbed, and reacted immuno-logically with antitranscobalamin II. All those properties are shared by human transcobalamin II.
