A study was conducted to establish a 3-dimensional quantitative structure activity relationship (QSAR) model of propenamides with antimalarial activities. Chemical synthesis and comparative molecular field analysis were used to generate QSAR models of chloroquine resistant and sensitive Plasmodium. Results showed that chloroquine resistance depends mostly on steric interaction and chloroquine sensitivity depends on both steric and electrostatic interaction.
