Patellar dislocation was recorded in 542 of 69245 canine patients. Risk of dislocation for females was more than 11/2 times that of males. Small dogs had a risk approximately 12 times that of large dogs. Pomeranians, Yorkshire Terriers, Chihuahuas, Miniature and Toy Poodles, and Boston Terriers were all at significantly increased risk.
