This paper addresses the association of microfilariae with other granulomatous diseases, particularly leprosy. The histopathological findings in a patient with borderline tuberculoid leprosy in a type 1 reaction and associated microfilaria are presented. It is emphasized that overall evaluation of the clinical setting assumes importance in the interpretation of the cytological findings, since such disorders share a common cytomorphological picture.
