The ocular pressure of patients with glaucoma simplex behaves similarly to that of healthy persons. After entering the sauna the intraocular pressure generally decreases somewhat, then increases slightly during the pouring of water on the hot stones and reaches the starting value after 1 hour approximately or even falls below it. Therefore these patients can certainly visit a sauna but it is not proven that the glaucoma can be influenced favourably thereby in a persistent manner.
