A case of giant fibromatous polyp of the oesophagus is described on account of its relative rarity and the unusual size of the neoformation, and also on account of its concomitant disease picture (papilliferous adenocarcinoma of the thyroid, multiple von Recklinghausen's disease). Intermittent fever of several months' standing disappeared almost immediately after potypectomy.
