Cultural intervention through theatre: case study of a play on female infanticide/foeticide

An examination is presented of a play, Pacha Mannu, produced by a women's theatre group in Tamil Nadu, on the subject of female infanticide. The play was performed to communities who practise female infanticide and foeticide, and, it is argued the play has presented a new way of consciousness raising, with new ways of understanding and subverting cultural expressions.
