The main conclusions of a research project on the political economy of privatization, land reform and farm restructuring in Central and Eastern Europe are presented. Empirical observations on privatization and decollectivization policy choices in ten Central and East European Countries are summarized, indicating several empirical correlations between reform policy choices and factors affecting the decision-making on the reform policies. The empirically observed correlations are explained with a series of political economy hypotheses.
