An economic analysis of employment of rural labour forces in informal sectors

The reasons for employment in the informal sectors by rural people in China are analysed, followed by a discussion on the effects of employment. The problems faced by these employees are pointed out. These include the abnormal employment relationship and labour system, poor working conditions, inadequate social safeguard and social insurance systems, and the excessive intervention of the administrative management sectors. Five countermeasures for promoting employment of rural workers in the informal sectors are presented and discussed.
