A survey conducted in Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh, India, revealed that most of the 120 respondents had a medium level of awareness about the Janmabhoomi development programme. Among the socioeconomic variables considered, education and social participation contributed to most of the variation in the level of awareness about the programme.
