Rats fed diets mixed with aflatoxins during the mating and gestation period showed cannibalism 3-4 days after littering. The incidence of cannibalism in different groups was directly related to the level of the toxin in the diet. Since the possibility of nutritional deficiency had been ruled out, it is suggested that a physical disturbance induced by aflatoxin was responsible.
