Effect of insulin hypoglycaemia on hydrocortisone level in peripheral plasma

Insulin hypoglycaemia is associated with a rise in plasma hydrocortisone level and hyperglycaemia with I.V. glucose injection causes a fall of plasma hydrocortisone level. Plasma hydrocortisone level changes occurring after insulin or glucose may not be only due to changes in blood sugar level.
