At the first signs of oestrus 24 Bizet and 2 Lacaune ewes were intravenously injected with PMS to induce ovulation, and were mated 24 hrs. later. Tn the majority the ova were in the middle, or lower third of the ampulla 2-2 1/2 hrs. after ovulation, remained in the ampulla until 44 hrs. after ovulation, and entered the isthmus 49-56 hrs. and the uterus 72 hrs. after ovulation.
