The fertilized eggs of persistent oestrous, androgenised, ovulated with ovine LH, appeared morphologically normal. Furthermore, 53% of the zygotes from androgenised with 50 micro g of testosterone propionate (TP) had developed into normal embryos when examined on the 18th day of pregnancy following transfer on day 1 into untreated pseudo-pregnant recipients. This result was not significantly different from that for transferred zygotes from normal.
