Experiments were conducted on 6 New Zealand White rabbits to ascertain whether the ova would be picked up following fimbriectomy and infundibular salpingostomy. Neofimbria, an analogous structure created through the eversion of the distal-most mucosa of the remaining ampulla, were observed. Ovulation was induced and the ova were able to be transported into the tube.
