The experiments were designed to determine the possibility of an inherited tendency to develop neoplasms. They were made on the hybrids of two strains, one of which was mammary-tumour susceptible and the other, while being resistant to mammary tumours, showed under oestrogen treatment a high incidence of hypophyseal tumours. The incidence of mammary and hypophyseal tumours in both groups after oestrogen injections is described.
